Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid forward, has become the second player
ever, to score in three different
Champions League or European Cup
finals.
C.Ronaldo opened scoring (0-1) against Juventus in Saturday’s final in
Cardiff, tucking in a smart cutback from Dani Carvajal. He struck again
in the second half to make it (3-1)
The reigning Ballon d’Or winner has now moved to second in the all-time
list, ahead of rival Lionel Messi, who has scored in two different
showpieces.
C.Ronaldo’s first final goal came for Manchester United against Chelsea
in 2008. Six years later, he netted Madrid’s 4-1 extra-time victory
over Atletico Madrid with a last-minute penalty.
The only man to have bettered the Portugal captain’s tally is fellow
Real Madrid legend, Alfredo Di Stefano, who scored in five different
finals. Di Stefano was part of the Madrid side that dominated European football from 1956 until 1960
